WITH investment now secured, it’s full steam ahead for a private members gym being built on Heathpark Industrial Estate in Honiton.

Over £300,000 is being invested in B! Health & Fitness, which will provide full and part-time job opportunities as well as freelance instructor roles for local people. The opening date for the gym is expected to be in January next year.

The timing and location are spot on for potential users of the new facility, as work looks set to begin on the nearby Hayne Lane housing development that could ultimately bring 300 hundred new households to the western edge of Honiton.

The gym is the brainchild of local entrepren- eur Craig Bernhardt, who already runs a successful gym in Lyme Regis. The Honiton gym is being developed as a bigger enterprise and with a floorspace of 6,000 square feet it will be one of the largest bespoke gyms in East Devon outside of Exeter.

Craig said: “I’m really excited about bringing this project to fruition.

“The aim of B! Health & Fitness is to make professional and comprehensive training facilities accessible to anyone wanting to work towards improving their natural levels of fitness, whether they have previous experience of using a gym or not.”

The equipment list has been chosen to be suitable for a cross-section of abilities from beginner to experienced athlete and trainer level and promises to offer a comprehensive range of activities: from cardio, resistance and functional training to group classes.

The gym will include Honiton’s first bespoke indoor cycling studio and intends to bring a variety and fun training styles.

“As a private membership club, our purpose is to provide a holistic service that is based around individual aims and needs,” explained Craig.

“Staff will engage at a personal level, to ensure members receive exactly the right support and motivation, from personal training thro- ugh to nutritional advice.”

Various levels of membership will be available, with some levels having limited numbers.

Members are being accepted from November on a first-come, first-served basis and the joining fee will be waived for anyone taking out a 12-month membership before the opening date.

Craig added: “We are intending to open the doors in early January, exactly the right time for anyone wanting to improve fitness levels for 2018.”
