Inaugural Bridport 10km road run next month

SPORTING events organiser, Beyond Events, will host Bridport’s first 10km road run on May 7th.

The inaugural event has been designed to cover as much of Bridport as is possible within the 10km distance, with a safe footpath and cycle path 5km run for adults and children who don’t want to do the whole 10km. Individual entry is £15 and £10 respectively.

A spokesperson for Beyond Events said: “We are so pleased to bring Bridport’s first ever 10km road run to the town, being a Bridport based company we are keen to bring as many events as we can to this beautiful town.

“The 10km will just complement our already established events; it is more of a fun event to encourage people to get active, there really are no barriers to entry.”

The start and finish lines will be at Plottingham playing fields, on the western edge of Bridport, and residents are encouraged to come out of their homes to support the runners as they pass.

The run will start just after 10am and will pass Magdalen Lane, North Allington, St Swith- un’s Road, Dodhams Lane, Pymore, Bradpole, Jessops Avenue, East Street and South Street before returning to Plottingham.

Every runner will receive a medal and there will be prizes for first place in each distance.
