First fundraiser for Axminster’s Christmas lights group is announced

LIGHT Up Axminster has announced its first Christmas lights fundraising event – a pizza and quiz night at Le Pisani on Monday, March 20th.

Chairman Cindy Furse said: “This is a fantastic event to start our fundraising efforts with, and I’m sure it’ll be a great evening for everyone, with some brilliant prizes on offer.”

Doors open at 6.30pm, with the quiz set to start at 7pm.

Tickets for the event cost £10 a head, and can be purchased in advance or on the door.

The maximum number of people in each team is six, and teams can be organised in advance or on the night.

Le Pisani will be serving freshly cooked handmade pizzas, with a number of different options on the menu.

Ticket purchase details will follow in due course.

The group has also launched its Facebook page.

Light Up Axminster’s Publicity and Social Media Manager Aaron Walker Purse said: “We had a fantastic response from Axminster’s online community, with over 150 people liking our new page in less than a week.

“Those who wish to stay updated can visit our page at Axminster.

“We will also be launching a website and Instagram and Twitter accounts over the next few weeks.”

Preparations are also under way for Light Up Axminster’s launch event, which will be held on Thursday, March 9th from 7pm–10pm in The Guildhall.

The event is described as “an exciting opportunity to discover more about the group, what events are coming up and how everybody can get involved.”
