Drunk learner driver bit police officer in Yeovil

A LEARNER driver from Yeovil was caught drunk at the wheel – then bit a police officer, a court has heard.

Christopher Extance was taken into custody but then began hurling abuse at officers. He was told to stop swearing and while a female officer was holding his head to stop him banging it, he bit her forearm, Yeovil Magistrates Court heard.

The officer said in a statement: “It was complete spite and occurred while I was giving him first aid and was not trying to do anything more than to look after him.”

Extance, 19, of Yeovil, pleaded guilty to driving after consuming excess alcohol, without insurance and not in accordance with a licence on February 12th.
