Body of missing fisherman found off Weymouth


THE body of a missing spear fisherman has been found in the water off the coast of White Nothe, in Weymouth.

Police received reports of a body found in the water at 10.55am today (Sunday).

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the body is believed to be that of missing spear fisherman Andrew Scott, 27, of Winterborne Whitechurch. He left home between 3pm and 4pm on Monday, July 10th but failed to return as expected.

His family have been informed of the discovery and the coroner has been notified.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and our thoughts are with Andrew’s family at this difficult time.”
